Homemade Pizzas - Teenagers Love It!

I have a confession.

No car cake was constructed this past weekend. I know, I promised…but it didn’t happen. I bought the supplies and ingredients, but life got busy (excuses, excuses) and I’ve postponed the making of the incredible edible car cake until later in the month.

What bit of deliciousness did I actually complete this weekend?

Homemade pizzas.

YUMMM…is right!

We had a house full of teenage boys this weekend and while it would have been easier to simply put in a call to the pizza delivery folks, hubs and I decided to make 3 pizzas from scratch! Fresh ingredients. Delicious dough. SOLD!

With the help of the three teens, we decided we would be making a 1) meat lovers pizza; 2) supreme pizza and finally 3) cheeseless pizza.

Ingredients bought:
  • Chicken apple sausage
  • Bacon
  • Pork Sausage
  • Onion
  • Mushrooms
  • Tomatoes
  • Low-fat Mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • Peppers
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Fresh pizza dough from Trader Joes (white and wheat dough)
Home ingredients used:
  • Fresh garlic
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil
And here are the pictures. The pizzas came out fantastic! Even our 11-month-old loved the soft dough crust and cooked veggies from the pizza! It was a grand slam with NOTHING left after 30 minutes of chowing down.

One of the teenagers actually said to us, “I’ve never had homemade pizza before, but it was definitely my favorite.”

We will definitely do this again! Although time consuming, it was delicious.

Do you make homemade pizzas at home? What has been your experience?

With love,
Louise
